Currently Crushing On: Lulu & Georgia

I like to think of moving to a new place as a fresh decorating palette (and try to forget the stress moving causes!). Not an entire new decorating do-over, but a decorating facelift where I can donate things that don’t work for us anymore and look forward to a few new pieces. Our upcoming move has caused an endless internet search for cute and cozy pieces. I’m crushing on Lulu & Georgia. They’re based in West Hollywood, but they have something for everyone. I’ve got my eye on the Romantic Collection. Ah…

I favor classic furniture with feminine accents, sprinkled with a few masculine accents, for example wood or stone book ends. Play with accent pieces; rugs, curtains and accessories are much more affordable then buying all new furniture and instantly gives a new look and feel. Changing paint color is another easy way to give a decorating facelift. What have you done to give a space a new look?

Moving to Portland, good-bye San Francisco

Well, we’re off to Portland shortly and packing has been tough. Moving an entire family hundreds of miles makes me nervous, but I’m finding the more organized the packing and moving, the better it will be. Any moving tips for us?

Clothes for the kiddos

You may judge me for not discovering this earlier, but I recently stumbled on the British online store Boden and the kids version called Mini Boden. It could be the cutest thing next to Crewcuts and H&M’s baby and toddler clothing line. It’s too adorable to have just discovered.

Am I too old to want one of those giant crayons?

My little one doesn’t love socks. Well, he does while he successfully rips them off! These are so cute, though, I may have to grab some anyway.

Share your favorite kids clothing lines, I want to hear from you!

Mom friendly outfits

Fall is such a beautiful time. The colors, the changing weather, the sweet and spicy foods… and of course, the cute and cozy clothes. Even through San Francisco’s Indian Summer, I can’t help but play up the more traditional Fall clothes. The second outfit is for those of us experiencing Indian Summer looking forward to expanding in all that beautiful sunny weather.

When we’re not opting for yoga pants and tee’s, these outfits are musts if looking to amp your  every day look. The pants are high waisted for the numerous squats we end up doing to pick up our little ones (and after them), both the simple knitted sweater and button up shirt look effortless and chic. After having little ones planning outfits often takes a backseat, and the need for key pieces that work together become key.

I’m still learning what works (and what doesn’t), but these looks are tried and true.
